| Using a unique gritty sand, sandblasting is an engraving method that carves directly into a product; beginning with a mask that enables sand to penetrate certain areas, while prohibiting entry in the unintended areas. The sand is applied to either crystal, marble or glass through a pressurized nozzle. The depth of the etching is controlled by time and pressure settings to apply the accurate amount of sand. A paint filling can then be applied to create unique colors over the sandblasting, once it is complete. The mask is then removed to yield a great award. The size of the lettering can be the only drawback of sandblasting, since certain serif fonts below 14pt type are susceptible to blasting out.
